We are growing!
From humble beginnings we now have over 180 members and we want to develop further to bring more events, (running, hill walking, social) better service for our runners, kit advice, nutritional experts and more!
We are looking for volunteers to help us make BTRs the best little social running group (Ever!) First and foremost we need to get a BTR bank account so we can take advantage of online payment etc. To get a bank account we have to prove we aren’t a front for laundering money so we have to have a basic committee structure to make us legit. We can’t even open the bank account until we have had a meeting to agree to an account being opened (good old red tape!)
So we are looking for the following committee members;
Chair – general head honcho !
Club Secretary – keeps everyone in line, organises & minutes the meetings, keeps us legal!
Treasurer – keeps an eye on the money and has a calculator
Social secretary and communications – organises the fun stuff and keeps the website, blogs, general communications up to date.
How it works!
The post holders will be decided by vote at the AGM (end of April date and location TBC).
If you want to put your name forward for any post let us know by 20th April stating what post you would like to be considered for e-mail
All our members can come to the AGM and vote if inclined to do so.
The commitment for the post will be 4 meetings a year probably over a pint! (one which will be the AGM) and just general group support.
Post will be for one year from AGM but can reapply – notice of step down one month.
The committee members do not have to be runners perhaps a partner who doesn’t do the running stuff but would like to get involved.
We are also looking for budding Run Leaders – you will need to attend the LIRF (leader in running fitness course – we are hoping to raise funds for interested members) Please let us know if you want more information
